Ndryshe nga te gjithe, Xhemal Me\u00e7i mbante ne nje ane te \u00e7antes se ditarit te mesimit edhe nje bllok shenimesh per te &#8220;in\u00e7izuar&#8221; te gjitha ata mrekulli te zakoneve, traditave, te veshjes, te te folurit, kanget popullore, nje jete e tane malesore qe nuk mund te jipet rasti te perseriten kurre ma.<\/p>\n<p>Kandi i letrave te tij ne shtepi mban peshen e mbi 62 vjetve pune te shperndara ne shenime, data, ndodhi, fakte fotografi etj. Nisi te shkruaj ne shtypin peridik dhe te jape mendimet e veta qysh 50 vjet me pare ne fusha te ndryshme te jetes e kryesisht ne gjuhesi, etnografi, folklor per te arritur ne vitet 90 te preludi i punes tij; botimin e plote te &#8220;Kanunit te Lek Dukagjinit&#8221; varianti i Pukes e ma vone ate te variantit te Mirdites me formate te medha. Ne vazhden e punes tij bejne pjese vepra te tilla historike si: &#8220;Migjeni ne Puke&#8221;, &#8220;Puka qe ne lashtesi&#8221;, &#8220;Ana e Drinit&#8221; histori dhe etnografi. Nje perjetesim i ka bere Poetit te Malesise Prendush Gega te shtrire ne dy volume formate te medha si dhe tani po punon per te dorzuar ne shtyp studimin mbi fshatrat Keqire, Karme, Koman, Dush etj.<\/p>\n<p>E shoh tek bredh sa ne nje fshat ne tjetrin, sa te nje vendbanim historik te nje kala e mbuluar nga harresa, sa te nje kasolle e sa te nje kulle edhe pse mbi shpatulla mban peshen e 78 viteve, por trupi nuk e tradheton. Ai ka mbetur djaloshi i hajm i viteve te rinise me shtatin plep te drejte, me hijeshin e burrit te fism qe gjithe jeten pat aq force e fuqi ti jape historise shqiptare, trollit vet, Pukes qe e don aq fort tere kapacitetin e dijen e tij prej intelektuali, prej patrioti, prej njeriut e shqiptarit te vertete.
