Kosova, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina are still struggling with the legacy of crimes committed during the Balkan wars. One of the least visible injustices is the ongoing failure to provide survivors of wartime rape and other forms of sexual violence with the reparation they desperately need and to bring the perpetrators of these horrendous crimes to justice. Sexual violence is a war crime! DON\u2019T BE SILENT!<\/p>\n

Throughout the war inflicted region of the former Yugoslavia the true extent of sexual violence during the conflict has never been fully acknowledged by Serbian authorities in Belgrade or societies were these terrible crimes took place. Survivors are not recognized in law and their needs are not being met in practice. Serbian authorities must bring these criminals to justice and the local authorities in Kosova, Croatia and Bosnia must move to meet the needs of the victims.<\/p>\n
