P\u00ebrpjekjet e shqiptar\u00ebve p\u00ebr t\u00eb krijuar nj\u00eb institucion t\u00eb arsimit t\u00eb lart\u00eb n\u00eb gjuh\u00ebn shqipe, Qeveria e Maqedonis\u00eb i kund\u00ebrshtoi ashp\u00ebr. M\u00eb 14 dhjetor 1994, pak para themelimit t\u00eb Universitetit, qeveria d\u00ebrgoi forca t\u00eb shumta policore dhe me buldozer\u00eb e rr\u00ebzuan objektin ku parashihej t\u00eb mbahet arsimi n\u00eb kuad\u00ebr t\u00eb Universitetit t\u00eb Tetov\u00ebs, at\u00ebher\u00eb jolegal. T\u00eb irrituar nga sjellja brutale e policis\u00eb, shqiptar\u00ebt e Tetov\u00ebs dol\u00ebn n\u00eb protesta. N\u00eb p\u00ebrplasjet mes policis\u00eb dhe nj\u00eb pjese t\u00eb demonstruesve kishte shum\u00eb t\u00eb l\u00ebnduar dhe nj\u00eb demonstrues u vra. 130 Universiteti Shtet\u00ebror i Tetov\u00ebs u themelua m\u00eb 4 qershor 1994 n\u00eb kuvendin themelues t\u00eb thirrur nga Bashk\u00ebsia Kulturore Shqiptare n\u00eb Maqedoni, n\u00eb cil\u00ebsi t\u00eb themeluesit, nd\u00ebrsa iniciator dhe n\u00ebnshkrues i dokumenteve p\u00ebr themelimin e Universitetit dhe p\u00ebr em\u00ebrimin e organeve t\u00eb p\u00ebrkohshme t\u00eb universitetit ishte profesor Abdulla Mehmeti, kryetari i Bashk\u00ebsis\u00eb Kulturore t\u00eb Shqiptar\u00ebve t\u00eb Maqedonis\u00eb. Si universitet shtet\u00ebror mbetet i papranuar nga pushteti deri n\u00eb janar 2004, kur u soll Ligji p\u00ebr krijimin e Universitetit Shtet\u00ebror t\u00eb Tetov\u00ebs nga ana e Kuvendit t\u00eb Republik\u00ebs s\u00eb Shqip\u00ebris\u00eb.<\/p>\n

Tetovo University<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Macedonian Government strongly opposed the efforts of the Albanians to establish a higher educational institution in Albanian. On December 14, 1994, in the wake of inauguration of the University, the government has sent massive police forces and tore down the building of the illegal Tetovo University with bulldozers. Irritated by the brutal police action, Albanians from Tetoto protestedand demanded high educational institution in Albanian language. In the confrontation between the police and part of the demonstrators many were injured and one protester was killed. The Tetovo State University was established on June 4, 1994 at the Constitutional Assembly convened by the Cultural Association of Albanians in Macedonia, in the capacity of founder, whereby Professor Abdula Mehmeti, President of the Cultural Association of Albanians in Macedonia, was the initiator and signatory of the documents for establishing the University and for the appointment of the provisional organs of the university. As a public university it remained unrecognized by the authorities until January 2004, when the Law on the Establishment of the State University of Tetovo was passed by the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia.<\/p>\n
