U konvertua n\u00eb Islam, dhe u edukua n\u00eb Edirne Turqi, atij iu dha emri Iskander \u2013 n\u00eb nder t\u00eb Aleksandrit t\u00eb Madh \u2013 dhe mori grad\u00ebn e beut (duke u b\u00ebr\u00eb k\u00ebshtu Sk\u00ebnderbe) nga Sulltan Murati II.<\/p>\n<p>Gjat\u00eb disfat\u00ebs s\u00eb turqve n\u00eb Nish (1443), n\u00eb Serbi, Sk\u00ebnderbeu e braktisi sh\u00ebrbimin turk dhe iu bashkua bashk\u00ebatdhetar\u00ebve t\u00eb tij shqiptar\u00eb kund\u00ebr forcave t\u00eb Islamit. Ai p\u00ebrqafoi krisht\u00ebrimin, rimori posedimet e familjes s\u00eb tij, dhe n\u00eb 1444 organizoi nj\u00eb lidhje me princ\u00ebrit shqiptar\u00eb, mbi t\u00eb cil\u00ebn ai u shpall komandant i p\u00ebrgjithsh\u00ebm.<\/p>\n<p>N\u00eb periudh\u00ebn 1444-1466 ai me efikasitet d\u00ebrrmoi 13 invasione turke, rezistenca e tij e suksesshme ndaj ushtrive t\u00eb Muratit II n\u00eb 1450 e b\u00ebri nj\u00eb hero n\u00eb t\u00eb gjith\u00eb bot\u00ebn per\u00ebndimore. P\u00ebrgjat\u00eb viteve ai mori disa mb\u00ebshtetje nga Napoli, Venediku, dhe papati dhe u em\u00ebrua nga Papa Kaliksti II kapiten gjeneral i sh\u00ebrbimit papnor*.<\/p>\n<p>N\u00eb 1463 ai siguroi nj\u00eb aleanc\u00eb me Venedikun q\u00eb e ndihmoi t\u00eb l\u00ebshonte nj\u00eb ofensiv\u00eb kund\u00ebr turqve. Deri n\u00eb fund t\u00eb jet\u00ebs s\u00eb tij ai i rezistoi me suksess invasioneve turke.
